Pudgy Penguins were launched in June 2021 and quickly became one the most popular PFP (social network profile pictures) collections. Despite being smaller in market capitalization, they are almost as well-known as CryptoPunks or Bored Apes. The 8888-item Ethereum-based collection is composed of cartoon images of cute, wholesome-looking penguins. It was also suspected that the founding team had siphoned funds from the protocol’s Treasury.
