Gal Sagie, founder and CEO of Hypernative, stated that the company began raising money in March and closed the round in May. The round was led by Boldstart Ventures and IBI Tech Fund. Sagie stated, “I think the biggest thing we have unlocked it is that there isn’t any post-deployment monitoring or real-time prevention hacks and exploits.”
Sagi clarified that most security measures in crypto today are manual audits that don’t account to changes in risk after deployment. He also said that the system would have given warning 17 minutes prior to the attack on Audius. According to Chainalysis, the number of crypto hacks increased rapidly last year and reached $3 billion in total funds stolen.
“Until now, there have been no systems that can accurately predict hacks and provide actionable advice to stop them. “The opportunity for Hypernative is huge as stopping zero-day hacks will go a long ways towards rebuilding trust within the crypto ecosystem,” stated Ed Sim, founder of Boldstart Ventures, in a statement announcing this funding round.
