First Public Testnet for Ethereum Layer 2 Scaling Solution Taiko

Key Points: Ethereum Layer2 scaling solution Taiko launched its first public testnet, Snaefellsjokull.
Developers can now make smart contracts available to users on testnet. Participants may also run a Layer 2 node. Participants cannot extend their nodes to become provers at the moment, and the testnet can’t produce validity proofs. This issue will be addressed in future testnet releases.
Taiko is a ZK Rollup that strives for Ethereum- and EVM equivalent. It supports all current Ethereum smart contracts and DApps, as well as developer tooling and infrastructure.
Taiko’s first public testnet for Ethereum scaling solution Layer 2 Snaefellsjokull has been launched. It made the first public testnet transparent in that spirit. Developers can now make smart contracts available to users. Participants may also run a Layer 2 node. However, participants cannot turn their nodes into provers and the testnet can’t produce validity proofs. Future testnet releases will address this issue. Validity proofs are not included within the testnet. This testnet release will not create any ZKPs. Additionally, pre-deployed apps do not appear on the testnet. Only two out-of-the box supported user activities are bridging L2 and L1 or sending ETH and ERC20 to friends. Any developer can make their smart contracts or dApps available to all users by deploying them. Taiko, an Ethereum-equivalent ZK Rollup, scales Ethereum by supporting all EVM opcodes within a layer-2 architecture that’s decentralized, permissionless and secure. Its team is determined to scale Ethereum in a way that mimics Ethereum at a technical and principles level. We encourage you to do your own research before investing.Join us to keep track of news: https://linktr.ee/coincuWebsite: coincu.comHaroldCoincu NewsTags: DAppsETHEthereumEVMSnaefellsjokullTAIKOZK-rollupZKPs
