The European Parliament voted to end the term for crypto-friendly vice president Eva Kaili. Only one person voted against Kaili’s firing. Two abstained. The move was unanimously approved today by the Conference of Presidents after it was initiated by the Conference of Presidents.
“The Conference of Presidents is shocked by the recent revelations about corruption and criminal influence in decision-making processes at the European Parliament.
All parties must be held responsible. To ensure justice is done, Parliament will continue to support the police and judiciary in full.
It will not be business as usual. To ensure transparency and accountability, the European Parliament will initiate an internal process of reform to ensure that they are strengthened and made watertight.
This is why the Vice-President’s office will be resigned as soon as possible.
