Ethereum Sepolia Testnet will activate a new upgrade shapella on February 28

Key Points: The Sepolia testnet will launch on February 28, 2023. It will allow developers to test new features, and other changes that will be made during the hard fork.
The Shanghai hard fork is expected bring many improvements to Ethereum’s network, including changes in gas fees, block reward, and transaction validation.
The launch of the Sepolia Testnet is a significant milestone in the development and implementation of the Shanghai hardfork. It will allow developers to identify any issues and fix them before the hardfork launches on the mainnet.
After months of testing, and a temporary launch of the devnet, the Shanghai/Capella network update (aka Shapella), is now scheduled for deployment on the Sepolia testnet. The Sepolia network will be activated for the Shapella network upgrade at 4:04:48 UTC on February 28, 2023. This upgrade follows The Merge and allows validators withdraw staked Ethereum from their beacon chain to the execution layers. It also introduces new features to both the execution layer and consensus layers (combined) as well as tool API changes. The Zhejiang testnet can be used to verify Shapella functionality prior to upgrading Sepolia. Sepolia is a closed test network that only Ethereum engineers have access to. The Zhejiang Testnet successfully simulated the withdrawal its own staked ETH. After one more test network is set up for the upgrade, the main Ethereum blockchain will experience the Shanghai hardfork next month. Zhejiang, on the other hand, is a public testnet that allows anyone to test issuing staking Ethereum. This will be after Sepolia has completed its round of testing. Goerli is the most anticipated test, as it is the largest public Ethereum testnet. It will also be the last chance for staking providers to confirm that ETH withdrawals work before Shanghai goes live on its main network. According to PoS, ETH can be “secured” on blockchain to support transaction validation, security, and other functions. The developer stated earlier that they will release the Shanghai upgrade to the Ethereum Goerli testnet after upgrading the Sepolia network. It will then switch to the main network.
