Gasparino claimed that the representation is raising questions in the legal community, while using Twitter to communicate what appears to be conflict of interest. Gasparino claims that Boies’ connections with Bankman-Fried (also known as SBF) give him enough reasons to be in a conflict. He also highlighted how close the lawyer is with James Fox-Miller, SBF’s uncle. He also claimed that his wife helped SBF with a well-known charity event, which was funded by FTX prior to the collapse of the exchange. This caused uncertainty for everyone affected. These international regulators were expected to give him a more favorable treatment and perhaps give him back control of the trading platform.
