Bitfarms Sold Its de la Pointe Property For $3.6 Million Net Profit
Bitfarms, a global Bitcoin self-mining company, has sold its de la Pointe property to make a net profit $3.6 million.
“After extensive due diligence and a competitive process, Societe de transport de Sherbrooke was selected to acquire the facility. It’s gratifying that Sherbrooke’s transportation agency can use our electrical infrastructure with green energy generated by Hydro Quebec and supplied to us by Hydro Sherbrooke in order to meet the community’s needs.”
The de la Pointe property uses Hydro Quebec’s hydroelectric electricity to power its bitcoin mining machine. Societe de transport de Sherbrooke (STS), Quebec’s public transportation agency, purchased the site. It plans to use it to power its green bus service and electric-assist bicycle sharing program. The company is currently trying mobilize resources to weather the harsh crypto-winter.
