South Korean authorities sent investigators to Serbia to search for Do Kwon (CEO of Terraform Labs), according to reports. Do Kwon is the man behind Terraform Labs’ two failed cryptocurrencies, Terra and Terra. LUNA) or stablecoin UST. The delegation includes prosecutors from Seoul where the Do Kwon investigation continues, as well members of the South Korean Ministry of Justice. In September 2022, South Korea filed an arrest warrant against Do Kwon to investigate the LUNA UST disaster. This person did not comply with the summons, and fled from Singapore to Dubai where he is said to have sought refuge in Serbia. Do Kwon’s passport was later cancelled and Seoul officials requested that Interpol issue an arrest warrant for him. Do Kwon claimed that he did not flee from Singapore but that he didn’t want to surrender to the police as he was afraid for his safety. The Terraform Labs CEO also denied charges of project finance misappropriation and self-interest in light of the LUNA/UST catastrophe. Former Terraform Labs workers and executives were approached by Korean officials to help in the investigation. The Seoul Prosecutor’s Office, and the South Korean Ministry of Justice declined to comment on Do Kwon’s current whereabouts. A Terraform Labs senior management claimed last week that Do Kwon is ready for a return to the cryptocurrency markets. He is about to launch a new project team on Terra 2.0, which is a “resurrected” version of the previous Terra.
